PM Modi Unveils 21st PM-KISAN Instalment, Empowering Millions of Farmers Across India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi releases ₹18,000 crore under 21st instalment of PM-KISAN aiding 90 million farmers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19, 2025, released the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, providing crucial financial support to nearly 90 million farmers across India. Under this flagship scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually, disbursed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The current tranche involves a massive disbursal of ₹18,000 crore directly credited to beneficiaries' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
Launched in February 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to supplement the income of all landholding farmer families having cultivable land, thereby enhancing agricultural sustainability and livelihood security. Since inception, over ₹3.70 trillion has been disbursed to more than 110 million farmer families nationwide. The scheme is one of the world’s largest direct benefit transfer programs and strongly emphasizes inclusivity, with over 25% of benefits reaching women farmers.
To ensure seamless and transparent fund transfers, the government maintains the PM-Kisan Portal, a single national platform for uploading and managing verified farmer details. The portal integrates with the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) to monitor transactions and provides location-wise data on beneficiaries, helping streamline assistance and improve oversight.

In Uttar Pradesh alone, more than 21.5 million farmers will receive ₹4,314.26 crore through the 21st instalment, bringing cumulative payments to ₹90,354.32 crore under PM-KISAN so far. Officials confirm that only those farmers with Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, properly uploaded land records, and completed e-KYC verification are eligible to receive payments.
PM Modi highlighted the significance of the scheme as a vital support mechanism for farmers, underlining the government’s commitment to empowering the agricultural community through timely financial assistance and digital innovation. The release ceremony in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, was marked by the Prime Minister’s call for sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices, reflecting the broader vision of inclusive growth and agricultural resilience.
