PM Modi To Inaugurate Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 8,000 Crore In Telangana
PM Modi will launch Rs 8,000 crore infrastructure projects in Telangana on May 10.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Telangana on May 10, where he will inaugurate and dedicate development projects worth around ₹8,000 crore. The visit will mark his first trip to the state after assuming office for a third term, and is expected to combine a major infrastructure push with a significant political outreach programme.
According to official sources, the Prime Minister will arrive at Begumpet Airport and participate in a series of formal events where multiple projects will be launched or dedicated to the nation. Among the key developments are new facilities at AIIMS Bibinagar, expansion works under MMTS Phase 2, and several national highway and railway infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and public services across the state.
In addition to the official programmes, a large public meeting has been planned at Parade Ground in Secunderabad under the banner “Janagraha Sabha.” The event is expected to draw a massive crowd, with BJP leaders estimating attendance of nearly two lakh people. Party cadres across Telangana have been mobilised to ensure participation, particularly from the Greater Hyderabad region, making it one of the largest political gatherings in the state this year.

The BJP is viewing the visit as strategically important ahead of upcoming civic elections in Telangana. The party is aiming to build on its previous performance in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, where it emerged as a strong contender by winning 48 seats. With possible restructuring of municipal corporations under discussion, the next round of local body elections is expected to be highly competitive.
Party leaders believe the Prime Minister’s visit will help reinforce the Centre’s development narrative in the state while also strengthening organisational momentum at the grassroots level. The rally is expected to highlight central government-funded projects and schemes implemented in Telangana, positioning infrastructure development as a key theme.
Politically, the address is likely to include criticism of both the ruling Congress government and the previous BRS administration, particularly on issues related to governance and unmet electoral promises. BJP leaders say the visit will serve as a platform to energise party workers and expand the party’s influence in Hyderabad and surrounding regions ahead of crucial electoral battles.
