PM Modi to Release Rs 20,500 Crore for 9.7 Crore Farmers in Epic PM-Kisan Payout!
Varanasi to host massive PM-Kisan installment release on August 2.
On August 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will roll out the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, transferring Rs 20,500 crore to the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers nationwide. The event, set in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, underscores the scheme’s role as a lifeline for rural India since its launch in 2019.
With over Rs 3.69 lakh crore already disbursed through 19 installments, PM-Kisan provides Rs 6,000 annually to eligible small and marginal farmers in three Rs 2,000 installments. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spearheaded a planning meeting at Krishi Bhavan with key officials, including Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi, to ensure a seamless rollout.
Farmers must complete e-KYC, link Aadhaar to their accounts, and verify land records to receive the funds, a move to curb leakages. This blockbuster welfare scheme continues to empower farming families, cementing its place as a game-changer for rural prosperity.
