PM Modi Speaks On Youth Empowerment Under 12 Years of NDA Governance

PM highlights youth-driven development and startup growth in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted what he described as “12 Years of Yuva Shakti,” crediting India’s youth for driving the country’s rapid transformation across key sectors. In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister reiterated that the NDA government remains firmly committed to youth-led development and creating an ecosystem that enables young Indians to pursue innovation, entrepreneurship, and national growth.

PM Modi stated that over the past 12 years, a defining feature of governance has been the rising confidence of India’s youth in pursuing their aspirations. He said that initiatives such as Startup India, Digital India, Skill India, and the Atal Innovation Mission have collectively built a strong foundation for innovation and enterprise across the country. According to him, these programmes have helped young people, especially from smaller towns and rural areas, emerge as contributors to India’s development story.

The Prime Minister emphasized that India’s youth are now actively shaping progress in sectors such as science and technology, manufacturing, space research, semiconductors, and drone technology. He noted that their participation in these advanced fields reflects the country’s growing capacity for innovation and its ambition to become a global leader in emerging technologies. He added that this generation is playing a crucial role in defining the future of India and contributing to global advancement.

In addition to technological achievements, PM Modi also praised the performance of young Indian athletes on the international stage. He said that the country’s sporting ecosystem has strengthened significantly in recent years, supported by improved infrastructure and greater institutional backing. According to him, these developments have enabled young athletes to consistently bring recognition and pride to India through their performances in global competitions.

The Prime Minister further highlighted key government data showcasing youth-focused initiatives over the past decade. He noted that more than 12 crore entrepreneurs have benefited from the PM Mudra Yojana, enabling widespread self-employment opportunities. He also mentioned that over 60 lakh youth have been supported under the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, while around 1.6 crore individuals have received training through the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, strengthening India’s skilled workforce and supporting industrial growth under the Make in India initiative.

PM Modi added that over 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through Rozgar Melas, expanding formal employment opportunities for young job seekers. He also pointed to the rapid growth of India’s startup ecosystem, which now includes more than 2.2 lakh startups generating over 23 lakh jobs. Additionally, nearly 16 lakh student-led innovation projects have contributed to fostering a strong culture of creativity and entrepreneurship.

The Prime Minister concluded by highlighting the PM-SETU scheme, under which Rs 60,000 crore has been allocated for the modernisation of 1,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). He said this investment aims to equip young Indians with industry-ready skills, reinforcing the country’s push toward self-reliance and sustainable economic growth driven by its youth population.
