PM Modi Pledges Greater Efforts to Realise Vision of Viksit Bharat
Prime Minister Modi thanks citizens and vows stronger work for a developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking his 75th birthday on Wednesday, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of wishes, blessings, and messages from across India and abroad, pledging to channel this affection into renewed energy for realising a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
In a post on X, Mr. Modi described the overwhelming support as a source of immense strength, not just for himself but for the collective mission to build a stronger nation. He emphasised that the faith reposed in him fuels his commitment to national progress, underscoring his resolve to work with greater devotion toward India’s development goals.
Mr. Modi highlighted the numerous social service initiatives launched by citizens nationwide, many under the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, a fortnight-long welfare campaign celebrating his birthday. He praised the inherent goodness of India’s people, which he said sustains society and fosters hope in overcoming challenges.
“This affection strengthens and inspires me,” Mr. Modi wrote, commending those leading community-driven efforts. The prime minister expressed regret for not responding to each wish individually but conveyed deep appreciation, praying for the nation’s health and well-being.
In keeping with his tradition of marking his birthday with development-focused events, Mr. Modi travelled to Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, to launch a nationwide campaign aimed at enhancing women’s and children’s health and nutrition. The initiative aligns with his government’s broader priorities, including the National Health Mission and schemes like Poshan 2.0, which target malnutrition and maternal care.
Prominent global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, extended birthday greetings, lauding Modi’s leadership in elevating India’s global stature.
