PM Modi Performs Dhwajarohan Ritual at Newly Completed Ram Temple in Ayodhya

Ayodhya’s grand shrine declared fully complete.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday performed the historic Dhwajarohan ritual by personally hoisting a majestic saffron victory flag atop the newly completed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, formally announcing to the nation and the world that every brick of the long-cherished grand temple has now been laid and the sacred complex stands fully ready as the eternal abode of Lord Ram.

Accompanied by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Prime Minister conducted the ceremony at the precise Abhijit Muhurat, an astrologically auspicious moment, amid Vedic chants and the resounding echoes of conch shells that reverberated across the transformed holy city.

The enormous 10-by-20-foot right-angled triangular saffron flag, hand-embroidered with a blazing Sun, the primordial Om symbol, and the sacred Kovidara tree, now flies proudly from the temple’s golden pinnacle, its deep orange hue representing renunciation, sacrifice, and the unstoppable rise of dharma. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra general secretary Champat Rai declared that this solemn act irrevocably marks the successful conclusion of all structural and artistic work on the three-storey marvel carved from pink sandstone.

From the moment the Prime Minister’s aircraft touched down at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, lakhs of devotees lined a flower-bedecked 13-kilometre route, showering petals, waving saffron and national flags, and raising thunderous chants of “Jai Shri Ram” as the open vehicle procession moved slowly toward the temple complex under unprecedented security and an ocean of devotion that turned Ayodhya’s streets into rivers of celebration.

Upon entering the sanctified premises, Modi first offered reverential prayers at the ancient Sapt Mandir before ascending to the flag-hoisting platform, where Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended a traditional welcome with garlands and aarti, hailing the occasion as the rebirth of Ayodhya as the undisputed foremost among India’s seven holiest cities and the eternal birthplace of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram.
