PM Modi: NDA's Track Record Resonates as BJP Secures Historic BMC Mandate

PM Narendra Modi expresses gratitude to Maharashtra voters, attributing BJP's first-ever BMC win to the NDA government's strong performance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed gratitude to the people of Maharashtra following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) decisive victory in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, marking a historic win for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in India’s richest civic body.

Posting on X, PM Modi wrote, “Thank you, Maharashtra,” as celebrations took place at the BJP office in Mumbai. Party workers and leaders gathered to mark the milestone, praising the electorate for endorsing the NDA’s governance and development initiatives.

The prime minister highlighted that the party’s consistent track record on development, public welfare, and infrastructure projects had struck a chord with voters across the state. He added that the result was a reflection of the citizens’ trust in the NDA’s ability to deliver on its promises.

Political analysts noted that the victory also underscored the BJP’s growing influence in urban civic bodies, traditionally dominated by regional parties. In Mumbai, the party’s performance was seen as a testament to effective grassroots campaigning and strong voter engagement.

BJP leaders maintained that the mandate was not just a party win but also an endorsement of policies aimed at urban development, sanitation, and civic infrastructure. The BMC, being India’s wealthiest municipal corporation, is viewed as a key platform to implement and showcase such initiatives.

The win has energised the NDA and its allies ahead of future state and national elections, with Modi emphasising that continued focus on development and governance would remain central to the party’s strategy. The prime minister concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serving the people and ensuring sustained progress in Maharashtra.
