PM Modi Meets Himachal Governor to Discuss Health and Agriculture Initiatives
Governor discusses Himachal health campaigns and natural farming initiatives with PM.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, marking his first interaction with the Prime Minister since assuming office. The meeting focused on the state’s developmental priorities and welfare initiatives.
During the discussions, Governor Gupta briefed PM Modi on major programs being implemented in Himachal Pradesh, including the Drug-Free Himachal Campaign and the TB-Free Himachal Campaign, aimed at enhancing public health and promoting social well-being across the hill state.
The Governor highlighted the state’s growing focus on natural and chemical-free farming, noting that an increasing number of farmers and orchardists are adopting eco-friendly agricultural practices. He stressed that promoting sustainable agriculture would not only protect the environment but also ensure stable livelihoods for farmers and allied sectors.

Governor Gupta underlined the importance of continued support from the Central government to strengthen these initiatives and accelerate their impact. He emphasised that coordinated efforts between the state and Centre are essential to ensure these programs achieve their intended outcomes and benefit communities across Himachal Pradesh.
He also called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan during a courtesy visit. The Governor apprised the President of the overall situation in the state, including ongoing developmental and welfare projects. President Murmu extended her good wishes for the progress and well-being of the people of Himachal Pradesh and appreciated the state’s efforts toward inclusive and sustainable development.
Governor Gupta concluded by stressing that collaborative initiatives between the Centre and the state would be pivotal in driving holistic growth, enhancing public welfare, and promoting sustainable development, particularly in the geographically challenging areas of the hill state.
