PM Modi Joins Trump’s Truth Social Platform

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his debut on Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday evening, hours after the U.S. President shared Modi’s three-hour podcast with Lex Fridman on the same network.

Modi’s first post at 8:12 PM IST read, “Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come,” accompanied by a photo of him clasping Trump’s hand at the 2019 ‘Howdy Modi’ event in Houston.

Modi’s entry onto the platform, where he follows only Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, underscores the deepening personal and diplomatic bond between the two leaders. Trump’s earlier post sharing the Fridman podcast—where Modi praised his resilience and “America First” spirit—set the stage for this move, amplifying their mutual admiration. “Thank you my friend,” Modi replied to Trump on Truth Social, reinforcing their camaraderie.

The PM’s decision, reported by News18 and NewsX, follows his meeting with U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard earlier today and aligns with recent high-level Indo-US engagements, including a defence pact with New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon.

With 88 million followers on X, Modi’s foray into Truth Social—a platform with a smaller, Trump-aligned audience—signals a strategic outreach to bolster Indo-US relations under Trump’s second term. As he engages this new digital space, Modi joins a select group of global figures on Truth Social, amplifying India’s voice in a platform shaped by Trump’s vision.
