PM Modi Hails RSS’s Legacy While Launching 100-Year Postal Stamp
PM honors century-old Sangh for nation-first unity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered praise on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as he unveiled a commemorative postal stamp celebrating its 100-year legacy, lauding the organization’s unwavering commitment to nation-building and societal empowerment. Speaking at a grand event in the capital, Modi hailed the RSS for its disciplined, unified approach, emphasizing that its diverse wings operate without conflict under the guiding mantra of “nation first.”
“The RSS stands as a pillar of ‘One India, Great India,’ tirelessly serving despite attempts to sideline it post-Independence,” Modi declared, invoking the group’s storied history. He recalled the iconic 1963 Republic Day parade where RSS volunteers marched with pride, a moment immortalized by the new stamp. “This is a tribute to their relentless dedication to Bharat’s unity and strength,” he added, highlighting their role in fostering cultural awareness and social responsibility.
Founded in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, the RSS has grown into a formidable volunteer-driven force, championing Hindutva ideals and discipline. Modi, a former RSS pracharak himself, credited the organization for shaping his own organizational prowess before his ascent in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the RSS’s ideological offspring.

The Prime Minister underscored India’s ethos of “unity in diversity,” warning that any fracture in this principle weakens the nation. “Despite challenges, the RSS has stood resolute, empowering every section of society,” he said. The event, marked by vibrant displays and patriotic fervor, reaffirmed the RSS’s enduring influence as it steps into its second century, galvanizing supporters and sparking renewed debate about its role in modern India.
