Nitin Gadkari, born on May 27, 1957, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, is one of the most prominent leaders in Indian politics and a key figure in infrastructure development. He has served as the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways for over twelve years, making him one of the longest-serving ministers in this portfolio. His tenure has been marked by an extensive push for highway expansion and transport modernization across India.
