Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief on X, stating, “Shocked by the sudden demise of popular singer Zubeen Garg. He will be remembered for his rich contribution to music. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is actively coordinating with the Indian High Commission in Singapore to repatriate Garg’s body. Speaking to reporters in Guwahati, Sarma said he had discussed the matter with Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule. “The Singaporean authorities will determine if an autopsy is required. If so, Zubeen’s mortal remains are expected to reach Assam by Saturday evening,” he noted. Sarma also took to X, assuring the public that efforts are underway to bring the singer’s body back home at the earliest.
