PM Modi urges citizens to unite amid West Asia conflict.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to all citizens to come together to face the challenges arising from the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Speaking on his monthly radio program, 'Mann Ki Baat', Modi urged people to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to rumours during the tense situation.
Modi described the situation in the region as a "fierce war" that has been ongoing for over a month and emphasized the need for unity among India’s 140 crore citizens. "This is undoubtedly a challenging time. We must come together as one to overcome this challenge," he said during the broadcast.
The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Gulf countries for providing assistance to more than one crore Indians living and working in the region. He acknowledged the efforts of host nations in ensuring the safety and welfare of Indian citizens amidst the crisis.

The West Asia conflict began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran. In response, Iran targeted Washington's allies in its neighbourhood and Tel Aviv. The crisis has affected the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route through which about 20 per cent of the world's energy is transported, with Iran allowing very few ships to pass since the conflict began.
Since the outbreak of hostilities, Modi has held discussions with several world leaders, including those from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iran, France, Israel, and Malaysia. He also spoke with US President Donald Trump on March 24, describing their telephonic conversation as a "useful exchange of views on the situation in West Asia."
Modi’s appeal highlighted the importance of staying calm and united during international crises, emphasizing that citizens’ awareness and cooperation are crucial for India’s preparedness in responding to challenges posed by conflicts abroad.
