Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: Rates Unchanged Across Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai

Petrol and diesel prices across major Indian cities remained largely unchanged on April 21, offering continued relief to consumers despite volatility in global crude oil markets. State-run oil marketing companies have maintained steady retail fuel rates, even as geopolitical tensions continue to influence international energy prices.

In Mumbai, petrol is priced at around ₹103.50–₹103.54 per litre, while diesel stands near ₹90.03 per litre. Similarly, Kolkata has petrol rates hovering around ₹105.41–₹105.45 per litre and diesel at approximately ₹92.02 per litre, reflecting higher state taxes compared to other metros.

Chennai continues to record petrol prices close to ₹100.80–₹100.84 per litre, with diesel around ₹92.39 per litre. In Hyderabad, fuel rates remain among the highest, with petrol at roughly ₹107.46–₹107.50 per litre and diesel near ₹95.70 per litre.

Fuel prices in India differ from city to city due to variations in state-level taxes such as VAT, transportation costs, and dealer commissions. Despite rising global crude prices, domestic rates have been largely stable in recent weeks, with oil companies absorbing part of the cost pressures.

Analysts note that international developments, particularly tensions in West Asia, continue to influence crude oil benchmarks. However, the government’s pricing strategy and subsidies have helped shield consumers from frequent revisions, keeping daily fuel prices steady for now.

As markets evolve, consumers are advised to keep track of daily price updates, as any significant shift in global oil prices or policy decisions could lead to changes in domestic fuel rates. For now, stability remains the key trend across major Indian cities.
