Patna Court Extends Khan Sir's Interim Arrest Protection Till June 30

Court defers hearing, extends interim arrest protection.

A court in Patna on Saturday extended the interim protection from arrest granted to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, until June 30 in connection with a firing incident linked to his coaching institute. The court directed that no coercive action be taken against him until the next hearing. The matter has been scheduled for further arguments on Monday, when the court is expected to hear the case in detail.

The case stems from an incident in early June when a group of alleged miscreants reportedly vandalised Khan Sir's coaching institute in Patna. During the disturbance, security guards deployed at the institute allegedly opened fire, leading to the registration of a criminal case. Khan Sir was subsequently named in the First Information Report (FIR), following which he approached the court seeking protection from arrest.

During Saturday's proceedings, the investigating officer submitted an updated case diary before the court. After examining the latest developments, the court deferred detailed arguments until the next hearing and allowed the earlier order granting protection to continue. The final hearing on the matter is expected to take place on June 30, when the court will consider the submissions of both sides.

Advocate Arvind Kumar Mouar, representing Khan Sir, said the "no coercive action" order would remain in force until the next hearing. He also informed reporters that the case involving Khan Sir's security guards, which arises from the same incident, has been listed for hearing on the same day. According to the defence, all legal proceedings are being followed as directed by the court.

The case has drawn significant public attention due to Khan Sir's popularity as an educator and online content creator. His lawyer maintained that Khan Sir has been fully cooperating with the police and the investigating team throughout the investigation. The court's next hearing is expected to play a key role in determining the future course of the case and the continuation of the interim relief granted to him.
