Passengers Evacuate After KSRTC Bus Catches Fire Following Collision in Sindagi

Karnataka biker dies after KSRTC bus collision sparks fire; passengers escape, police investigating.

A motorcycle rider tragically died on Monday after colliding head-on with a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus near the Kannolli toll gate in Sindagi taluk, Vijayapura district. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle caught fire instantly, and the rider was burnt to death. The flames spread to the bus, prompting the driver, conductor, and passengers to flee immediately. The identity of the rider has not yet been confirmed.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. Authorities confirmed that everyone on board the bus escaped safely without injuries. Police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the collision and the circumstances that led to the rapid spread of the fire.

In a separate incident, two sisters on their way to sit their Class 10 board exams were injured after falling out of a moving KSRTC bus in Dakshina Kannada district. The accident occurred near Reshme Road in Kaliya village, Beltangady taluk, when the bus door allegedly swung open unexpectedly as the vehicle navigated a curve, causing the sisters to lose their balance and fall onto the road.

The siblings had boarded the bus at Gerukatte while travelling from Puttur to Dharmasthala. Officials are investigating the circumstances that led to the door malfunction, highlighting growing safety concerns regarding passenger buses in the state. Both incidents have raised calls for stricter enforcement of road and vehicle safety measures.
