Panic To Relief: How CISF Tracked An Author's Lost Phone In 15 Minutes

Traveller praises airport security staff for rapid lost-phone assistance.

A traveller at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has publicly praised the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) after officials helped recover her misplaced mobile phone within 15 minutes. The incident came to light after author Bhaavna Arora shared her experience on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. In her post, she described feeling panicked after realizing that her phone had gone missing inside the airport premises. However, she said the situation was quickly resolved after she approached CISF personnel stationed at the airport for assistance.

According to Arora, the security personnel acted immediately after receiving her complaint and managed to trace the device in less than a quarter of an hour. Expressing gratitude for the prompt response, she wrote that the CISF staff handled the matter with professionalism and efficiency, helping her avoid what could have become a stressful travel experience. She also urged other passengers not to panic if they lose belongings at airports and encouraged them to directly contact CISF officials on duty for support. Her comments quickly gained traction online and drew widespread appreciation for airport security personnel.

The CISF later responded publicly to the post through its airport operations account, thanking Arora for acknowledging the efforts of its officers. In its reply, the force stated that it was glad to have assisted in recovering her belongings promptly and noted that such appreciation motivates personnel to continue serving passengers with dedication and sincerity. The response also highlighted the role of CISF teams in ensuring not only airport security but also passenger assistance in emergency and lost-and-found situations at major transit hubs across the country.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the extensive lost-and-found systems operating at Indian airports, particularly at high-traffic facilities such as Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. With thousands of passengers moving through terminals daily, airport authorities and CISF personnel frequently deal with misplaced luggage, electronic devices, travel documents, and personal valuables. Several users responding to Arora’s post pointed out that airports also maintain digital systems and online portals where recovered items can be tracked and reclaimed by passengers after verification procedures are completed.

Social media users widely praised the professionalism of CISF officers and airport staff in Bengaluru. Many people shared similar personal experiences involving the recovery of lost belongings at airports, describing the officials as responsive and efficient during stressful situations. Among those reacting to the post was Akkshye Tulsyan, who said stories highlighting positive public service deserve greater attention. He noted that losing a phone during travel can create panic and confusion, adding that the calm and professionalism displayed by uniformed personnel often goes unrecognized despite playing an important role in assisting travellers.

The viral post has since received tens of thousands of views and significant engagement online, with many users calling for greater public awareness about airport assistance services. Aviation experts note that efficient passenger support systems are increasingly becoming an important part of airport operations, especially as air travel volumes continue to grow across India. Incidents like these, while seemingly minor, help reinforce public confidence in airport security and customer support infrastructure, particularly in major metropolitan transit centres such as Bengaluru.
