Operation Sindoor Debate: "Operation Sindoor Crushed Terror HQs, Keeps Pakistan Sleepless" PM Modi
Modi Hails Operation Sindoor’s Decisive Blow to Terror
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Lok Sabha on Tuesday during a two-day debate on the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terror attack, asserted that Operation Sindoor delivered a crushing blow to Pakistan’s terror infrastructure, leaving its “masters of terrorism” sleepless. The attack, which killed 26 civilians, aimed to incite riots, but India’s unity and decisive response foiled the plot, Modi said, terming the Parliament session a “Vijayotsav” for destroying terror headquarters.
Modi detailed how, upon returning from abroad on April 22, he convened a meeting with service chiefs, granting the armed forces full autonomy. “We told them to decide when, where, and how to strike,” he said. On May 6-7, Operation Sindoor targeted nine terrorist sites across Pakistan and PoK, eliminating over 100 terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen in a 22-minute precision strike using indigenous drones and missiles. “We struck their airbases and assets; some are still in ICU,” Modi quipped, dismissing Pakistan’s nuclear threats as ineffective.
Countering Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claim of restricted military freedom, Modi emphasized, “Our forces had a free hand, and Pakistan could do nothing.” He highlighted the operation’s historic reach, striking terror hubs in Pakistan’s Punjab for the first time since 1971, proving India’s technological prowess and setting a “new normal” against nuclear blackmail. Only three nations supported Pakistan, while global backing bolstered India, though Modi lamented Congress’s lack of support.
