Operation Aaghat 3.0: 21 Pistols, 6 kg Ganja Recovered in South-East Delhi
Delhi Police intensifies major crackdown in South-East district before celebrations.
The Delhi Police, through 'Operation Aaghat 3.0' executed on the intervening night of December 26 and 27, 2025, in the South-East district, recovered a substantial quantity of illegal arms, narcotics, liquor, cash, stolen property, and vehicles as part of a pre-emptive drive to maintain law and order ahead of New Year celebrations.
The most concerning seizures involved deadly weaponry, with authorities confiscating 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges, and 27 knives under the provisions of the Arms Act. These recoveries highlight the ongoing challenge of illegal firearm proliferation in urban areas and demonstrate the police's focused efforts to intercept such dangerous items before they could be used in criminal activities during the festive season.
In a significant strike against drug trafficking, the operation resulted in the seizure of 6.01 kilograms of ganja, a quantity substantial enough to indicate organised supply chains targeting increased demand during celebrations. This confiscation disrupts the distribution network and prevents the potential spread of narcotics among vulnerable groups gathering for New Year events.

Authorities also targeted illicit liquor trade and gambling, seizing 12,258 quarters of illegal liquor intended for unauthorised sale and ₹2,30,990 in cash directly recovered from active gambling operations. Additionally, 310 mobile phones previously reported as snatched or stolen were recovered, providing relief to victims and aiding in the restoration of personal property lost to street crimes.
The haul extended to vehicles, with six stolen two-wheelers and one four-wheeler linked to criminal activities being recovered, while 231 two-wheelers were impounded for various traffic and regulatory violations. These comprehensive seizures, achieved through coordinated raids and checkpoints, reinforce the police's commitment to reducing street crime and ensuring a secure environment for public movement during the festive period.
