On Camera: Mob Ramps Up Violence at Ulhasnagar Hospital After Patient's Death
Relatives of deceased patient vandalise Maharashtra hospital after death on camera.
Tension erupted at a government hospital in Maharashtra’s Thane district after the death of a 45-year-old patient triggered violence, vandalism, and clashes between the deceased’s relatives and hospital staff on Wednesday. The incident took place at a hospital in Ulhasnagar shortly after the patient, identified as Bhagwan Nimbore, was declared dead during treatment.
According to officials, Nimbore had been admitted earlier in the day with liver-related complications. His condition reportedly deteriorated rapidly, and he died within hours of being under medical care. The news of his death allegedly led to an immediate outburst from his family members, who gathered inside the hospital ward.
A video of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows relatives—reportedly including his wife and son—engaging in vandalism inside the ward. Medical equipment was damaged as emotions escalated, while hospital staff attempted to control the situation. In the footage, the patient’s son is heard shouting in distress, while another individual appears to urge others to “smash everything.”

Hospital security personnel can be seen trying to calm the situation, urging the agitated family members not to take the law into their own hands. The deceased’s wife is also heard accusing hospital staff of negligence and expressing anguish over the loss of her husband.
As the situation escalated, staff members and relatives reportedly clashed, prompting panic within the hospital premises. A doctor was also confronted by the family, who questioned the response and timing of medical intervention during the emergency.
In response to the incident, the hospital administration initiated a “stop work” protest, citing serious concerns over staff safety and security within the facility. They also demanded immediate legal action against those involved in the violence.
Senior officials, including the local mayor Ashwini Nikam and police representatives, visited the hospital and held discussions with staff. Authorities have assured strict action against those responsible and said that an investigation into the incident is underway.
