Omar Abdullah Champions National Flag at Tiranga Rally

CM Omar’s Inspiring Tiranga Rally Speech

In a vibrant display of patriotism, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led a Tiranga rally in Srinagar on Tuesday, calling on citizens to elevate the national flag to greater heights by upholding its dignity and honor. Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd, Abdullah emphasized that every individual can contribute to the flag’s reverence, regardless of the scale of their actions.

“It’s not about the number of people involved. Each one of us can play a part in safeguarding the respect and dignity of our national flag,” Abdullah declared, standing against the backdrop of fluttering Tricolours. He urged citizens to move beyond ceremonial flag-hoisting, traditionally confined to official events, and embrace it as a symbol of personal and collective pride.

Reflecting on the flag’s journey, Abdullah highlighted a landmark legal battle that transformed its accessibility. “Years ago, the Tricolour could only be hoisted on government buildings or during designated functions. One determined individual fought through the courts to secure the right to hoist it on private premises, compelling the government to amend the law. Today, every home can proudly display the flag,” he said, inspiring the crowd to follow in the footsteps of those who made sacrifices for the nation’s pride.

The rally, organized as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, saw participation from diverse groups, including students, local leaders, and community members, all united in their reverence for the flag. Abdullah encouraged citizens not to feel discouraged when standing alone for a just cause, emphasizing that individual actions can spark monumental change.

“Those who sacrificed their lives for this flag did not wait for a crowd. Their courage inspires us to carry forward their legacy,” he added, calling for unity in fostering national pride. The event concluded with a pledge to promote the flag’s dignity and ensure its presence in every corner of Jammu and Kashmir.
