No Remorse! Major Crackdown in Kashmir! Hundreds Detained
Kashmir Crackdown: Homes Razed, Hundreds Detained After Pahalgam Massacre
In the wake of the devastating Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists, Jammu and Kashmir authorities have unleashed a sweeping crackdown across the Valley.
Security forces are targeting terrorists and their sympathizers with unprecedented intensity, demolishing homes, raiding hideouts, and detaining hundreds of overground workers (OGWs) to prevent another such atrocity, officials confirmed on April 26.
Within 48 hours, five homes linked to terrorists were razed in Shopian, Kulgam, and Pulwama districts. Notable demolitions include the residences of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Shahid Ahmed Kutte in Chotipora, Shopian, and Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh in Pulwama, both suspected of orchestrating anti-national activities.

Mysterious blasts destroyed the homes of Adil Thoker in Anantnag and Asif Sheikh in Pulwama, with Thoker identified as a key perpetrator of the Baisaran meadow massacre. Explosives were reportedly found in some residences, escalating the response.
Over 1,400 individuals, including 250 OGWs, have been detained, primarily in South Kashmir’s Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam, and Shopian districts.
A tragic incident in Bandipora saw OGW Altaf Lalli killed during a raid when terrorists opened fire, injuring two policemen. Extensive search operations continue, with raids in Srinagar’s Safakadal, Soura, and Zadibal areas and round-the-clock combing in Anantnag’s Kokernag and Hapatnad regions. Mobile checkpoints now dot the Valley to curb suspicious movements.
The crackdown follows the Pahalgam attack, claimed by The Resistance Front, an LeT offshoot, targeting Hindu tourists to protest alleged demographic changes.
With India suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and escalating diplomatic measures against Pakistan, this operation signals a resolute stand against terrorism, though it raises questions about long-term stability.
