NIA Gets Seven More Days of Custody for Anmol Bishnoi in Terror-Gangster Probe

Delhi court extends Anmol Bishnoi’s NIA custody till December 5.

A special court in Delhi on Saturday extended the National Investigation Agency’s custody of deported gangster Anmol Bishnoi by another seven days, pushing the remand period until December 5, 2025. The decision was taken by Special Judge Prashant Sharma in a closely guarded hearing conducted inside the heavily fortified NIA headquarters in the national capital. The extraordinary security arrangements, including multiple layers of armed personnel and restricted access, underscored the gravity of the threats surrounding the case and the high stakes involved in the ongoing investigation.

The NIA successfully convinced the court that extended custodial interrogation remains crucial to dismantle a sophisticated terror-gangster-drug syndicate that has operated with impunity across India and abroad. Investigators told the court that Anmol Bishnoi, despite being in custody for nearly ten days already, continues to reveal new names, financial channels, weapon supply routes, and foreign hideouts linked to the network headed by his elder brother, the jailed Lawrence Bishnoi. The agency stressed that premature release could severely hamper efforts to trace remaining absconding shooters and financiers.

Anmol Bishnoi, aged 27, was dramatically deported from the United States on November 18, 2025, ending a two-year evasion that began when he went underground in 2022. He had been detained by American authorities since November 2024, and his extradition marks a major diplomatic and investigative victory for Indian agencies. Identified as the 19th accused in the NIA’s chargesheet, Anmol is believed to have orchestrated several audacious crimes from overseas safe houses while maintaining real-time coordination with ground operatives in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.

Among the chilling charges against him are the cold-blooded assassination of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in October 2024, the brazen daylight firing outside Bollywood megastar Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra in April 2024, and playing a pivotal role in the planning and execution of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s murder in May 2022. These incidents not only claimed prominent lives but also spread widespread fear in political, entertainment, and cultural spheres, exposing the reach of organized crime syndicates operating with terrorist methodologies.

With this latest extension, the NIA now has until December 5 to intensify its interrogation and confront Anmol Bishnoi with fresh digital and forensic evidence gathered from recovered phones, laptops, and international money trails. Law enforcement sources indicate that every additional day in custody brings investigators closer to neutralizing remaining modules of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Anmol Bishnoi network, which continues to pose a serious threat to public figures and national security.
