New India’s Roar: Operation Sindoor Stuns World, says Union Minister of State for Defence

Indigenous weapons crush terror in 22 minutes

Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth declared that “New India roars like a lion,” celebrating the success of Operation Sindoor, which he said humbled Pakistan in just 22 minutes. Speaking at a sapling plantation event under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign at Pitru Parvat, Seth hailed the operation as a triumph of India’s indigenous defense capabilities, resonating globally.

Launched on May 7, 2025, Operation Sindoor was India’s retaliatory strike against the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The operation targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan, causing significant damage. Seth claimed Pakistan’s counterattacks were ineffective, leading to a ceasefire on May 10. “Our valiant soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees, with their DGMO surrendering to India’s,” he told reporters, saluting the Indian Army.

The operation showcased India’s self-reliant defense arsenal, including BrahMos cruise missiles, Akash and MR-SAM systems, and the AI-based Akashteer system, which enabled real-time threat coordination. DRDO Chairman Samir V. Kamat noted that BrahMos strikes and the D4 anti-drone system neutralized over 100 terrorists from groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed. Seth emphasized, “This is a big win for our indigenous weapons,” crediting PM Narendra Modi’s 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision.

Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, who joined Seth at the event, echoed the sentiment, linking environmental initiatives to national pride. Seth added that India’s defense production hit ₹1.51 lakh crore in 2024-25, with exports at ₹23,622 crore, signaling a robust defense industry.

Operation Sindoor’s success, Seth asserted, proves India’s ability to confront global powers unflinchingly, reinforcing its stance against terrorism and its growing military and economic might.
