New Book Highlighting PM Modi’s Humane Side To Be Released On Birthday

A new book titled Modi Katha, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s compassionate and sensitive side through real-life accounts and personal recollections, will be released at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in New Delhi on September 17, coinciding with his birthday. The book has been authored by journalist, columnist and writer Harish Chandra Burnwal and will be formally launched by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal.

The launch event will be presided over by IGNCA President Ram Bahadur Rai. IGNCA Member Secretary Sachchidanand Joshi, Aaj Tak Senior Anchor Saeed Ansari and ABP News Senior Anchor Chitra Tripathi are also scheduled to attend as distinguished guests. Published by Prabhat Prakashan, Modi Katha is Burnwal’s fifth book centred on Prime Minister Modi and draws on experiences and recollections spanning the past 25 years.

The book is described as a collection of 10 true stories intended to highlight compassion, affection and sensitivity across different phases of Modi’s public life. According to a statement, Burnwal has presented the accounts in simple language and an emotionally engaging narrative style, combining factual details with stories that focus on personal interactions. The accounts cover incidents involving ordinary citizens and people who came into contact with Modi at different stages of his career.

One of the stories recalls a train journey in 1990 involving a young Modi and two female passengers, whose perception of politicians reportedly changed following his behaviour towards them. Another account centres on Jeet Bahadur, a teenager from Nepal whom Modi is said to have supported during his early political years and continued to remember after becoming Prime Minister. The book also features the experiences of teacher Geetaben and visually impaired student Pinkal, whose interaction is linked in the account to provisions for visually impaired students in the Union Budget.

Other stories in the book include an account involving immediate assistance extended to Taiba from Agra and the experiences of Chandrakant, a labourer from Hubballi in Karnataka. The author presents these accounts as examples of how governance can extend beyond policies and official processes to include attention to individual experiences and concerns. Sources have reportedly been listed at the end of each story to address questions about the basis of the accounts and distinguish them from preconceived perceptions.

Burnwal currently runs a YouTube channel focused on political analysis and has authored several other books, including Television Ki Bhasha, Sach Kehta Hoon, Modi Sutra, Modi Neeti, Lord of Records, Sangh Ki Ansuni Kahaniyan, Operation Sindoor: 100 Sarvashreshtha Kavitayen and Unsung Sangh. He has also created a vBook in collaboration with the IGNCA. In addition, Burnwal has produced more than 150 songs and devotional compositions and has received the Bharatendu Harishchandra Award from the Union government and the Hindi Akademi Award, along with other recognitions for his work in journalism and literature.
