NCERT Announces Vikram Sarabhai Space Quiz 2026 For Classes 6–12
NCERT invites Classes 6–12 students for the 2026 space quiz.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has invited students from Classes 6 to 12 to participate in the Vikram Sarabhai Space Quiz 2026, a national-level competition focused on India's space programme. The quiz will test students' knowledge of space science, ISRO missions, satellites, astronomy and space technology, offering school students an opportunity to explore India's achievements in the sector.
The competition has been divided into two categories based on students' classes. The junior category is open to students from Classes 6 to 8, while students studying in Classes 9 to 12 can participate in the senior category. The initiative is intended to encourage students to develop greater interest in science, technology and India's expanding space programme.
The quiz is being organised ahead of National Space Day 2026, which will be observed on August 23. The competition will be conducted across five zones, with the top 30 zonal winners getting an opportunity to attend the National Space Day 2026 event in Ahmedabad. The event will provide selected students with an opportunity to participate in national-level celebrations connected with India's space achievements.

Students can participate through the DIKSHA digital learning platform, where separate courses have been provided for the two categories. Students in Classes 6 to 8 can access the junior-category course, while those in Classes 9 to 12 can use the corresponding senior-category course. Students are encouraged to check the relevant DIKSHA course for participation details.
The Vikram Sarabhai Space Quiz is designed to combine learning with competition and familiarise students with India's space exploration efforts. Questions will cover areas related to ISRO missions, space technology, satellites, astronomy and other aspects of the country's space programme. The initiative also seeks to encourage curiosity among school students and strengthen their engagement with science and technology.
NCERT has shared information about the competition through its official social media channels. The initiative involves the Ministry of Education, DIKSHA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and forms part of activities surrounding National Space Day. Students interested in participating can access the quiz through the DIKSHA platform and take part according to their respective category.
