Nation Bows in Reverence as Leaders Remember Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Supreme Sacrifice

PM Modi and national leaders paid rich tributes to Guru Gobind Singh Ji on his Parkash Utsav.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying heartfelt tributes to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the sacred occasion of his Parkash Utsav (birth anniversary) on December 27, 2025. In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister described the tenth Sikh Guru as an eternal embodiment of courage, compassion, and sacrifice. He highlighted how Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s life and teachings continue to inspire generations to uphold truth, justice, righteousness, and the protection of human dignity. PM Modi also shared photographs from his earlier visit to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, where he had the privilege of having Darshan of the Holy Jore Sahib of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, underscoring the spiritual significance of the day.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined in the tributes, hailing Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a timeless symbol of resistance against injustice, oppression, and tyranny. In his message on X, Shah recalled the Guru’s supreme sacrifices—including the lives of his four sons and Mata Gujri Ji—and his own ultimate sacrifice for faith, culture, and humanity, earning him the revered title of “Sarvansdani” (one who sacrifices everything). Shah particularly praised the establishment of the Khalsa Panth, which transformed Sikhism into a powerful force of service and defense, with the Panj Pyare becoming enduring symbols of protection and equality for society.

Other prominent leaders also extended their respects on the occasion. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari conveyed heartfelt congratulations, stating that Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s life and thoughts would continue to inspire humanity for centuries. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered millions of salutations to the “great saint and religious warrior,” recognizing him as the founder of the Khalsa Panth and an embodiment of valor and sacrifice. Yogi Adityanath emphasized the Guru’s struggle against injustice and unrighteousness, noting that his message of safeguarding religion and standing fearlessly on the path of truth continues to guide all of humanity.

Born in 1666, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji played a transformative role in shaping Sikh identity and values. As the founder of the Khalsa Panth in 1699, he instilled principles of equality, bravery, selfless service, and unwavering resistance to tyranny. His teachings emphasized standing up for the oppressed, defending human dignity, and living a life of moral integrity. The Parkash Utsav is observed nationwide with prayers, kirtans, processions, and community gatherings, reflecting the enduring reverence for one of India’s greatest spiritual and moral leaders whose legacy of faith, courage, and sacrifice remains a beacon for millions.
