MUST BE DIGITALLY CAPABLE!! AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Pushes For 100% Digital Literacy

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious goal to achieve complete digital literacy across the state, emphasizing the need for every citizen to adeptly use digital tools for governance.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious goal to achieve complete digital literacy across the state, emphasizing the need for every citizen to adeptly use digital tools for governance. During a review meeting at the state secretariat on Monday, Naidu assessed the public’s perception of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) and the innovative WhatsApp-based governance system, Mana Mitra, designed to streamline access to government services.

Mana Mitra allows residents to obtain essential documents and lodge complaints directly through the messaging platform, eliminating the need for in-person visits to government offices. "Every person in the state should become digitally literate and capable of using WhatsApp governance with ease," Naidu stated, as per an official press release. He underscored the importance of empowering citizens with digital skills to fully leverage this system.

However, Naidu expressed concern over the limited awareness of Mana Mitra among the public. To address this, he instructed District Collectors to take proactive measures to promote the platform and ensure its benefits reach every corner of Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister’s vision is to integrate technology seamlessly into daily governance, enhancing efficiency and accessibility for all.

In the meeting, IT and RTGS Secretary K. Bhaskar briefed Naidu on the platform’s progress. Currently, Mana Mitra offers 200 services, with plans to expand to 350 by the end of March 2025. Ultimately, the platform aims to provide 500 services, making it a comprehensive digital hub for citizens. This expansion reflects the state’s commitment to modernizing governance through technology.

Naidu’s directive aligns with his broader agenda to position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in digital innovation, ensuring that even rural and underserved populations are equipped to navigate the digital landscape. The push for universal digital literacy is seen as a critical step toward inclusive and responsive governance in the state.
