MP Targets 50% Green Energy, Exports From All 55 Districts: Mohan Yadav
MP targets higher green energy share and exports across all districts.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has outlined the state’s plans to increase its green energy share to 50 per cent and expand exports to every district. Addressing the World Leaders Forum organised by The Economic Times in New Delhi on Saturday, Yadav discussed the state’s investment potential and highlighted government priorities in green energy, infrastructure, exports and ease of doing business.
Yadav said Madhya Pradesh currently has an energy capacity of 31 gigawatts, with green energy accounting for around 30 per cent. The government aims to increase this share to 50 per cent, while discussions with private companies have indicated interest in investments across sectors. He identified power, healthcare, mining and aviation among areas with significant potential for further growth.
On air connectivity, Yadav noted that Madhya Pradesh, which had four airports during the British era, is now seeing substantial expansion of its aviation infrastructure. Five new airports are currently under construction, while memoranda of understanding have been signed for five more. If completed as planned, the initiatives would take the total number of airports covered by the projects to 10.

The Chief Minister also outlined the state’s export ambitions, noting that products from Madhya Pradesh reach international markets despite the state being landlocked. Exports currently originate from 37 of the state’s 55 districts, with the government targeting coverage of all districts within the next one-and-a-half years. Annual exports are estimated at around Rs 88,000 crore, while a recent MoU with an Arab investor in the fish production sector was cited as an example of growing market opportunities.
Yadav said more than 340 industrial belts are being developed across the state, supported by 22 junctions, eight airports and a land bank of more than one lakh acres. He described Madhya Pradesh as a power-surplus state with skilled manpower and noted that the government provides assistance of up to Rs 5,000 per employee to investors. The state is also pursuing opportunities in areas such as space technology and an AI city.
The Chief Minister further pointed to growing investment interest in the telecom sector, particularly in Gwalior. Roadshows held in Delhi and Mumbai generated investment proposals worth more than Rs 5,500 crore from each city, taking the combined figure to over Rs 10,000 crore, he said. Yadav also pointed to plug-and-play facilities, subsidies and industrial land offered at prices below cost as measures aimed at attracting investors and strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s position as an investment destination.
