Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday, holding discussions on key developments concerning the state. The meeting comes a day after the conclusion of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s budget session. While the specific agenda was not disclosed, sources indicated that developmental priorities, administrative matters, and coordination between the Centre and the state were among the issues discussed.
During his visit, Yadav was accompanied by state BJP chief Hemant Khandelwal to meet BJP president Nitin Nabin. Earlier in the day, before departing for Delhi, Yadav virtually participated in the launch of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Rajasthan. Describing it as a historic public health initiative, the Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh aims to vaccinate nearly 8 lakh adolescent girls as part of the drive.
According to Yadav, the state has received over 7.58 lakh vaccine doses from the Central government. The vaccine will be administered free of cost to eligible girls aged above 14 and below 15 years at designated government institutions. Noting that the vaccine costs around Rs 4,000 in the open market, he said the three-month campaign seeks to protect young girls from cervical cancer and strengthen preventive healthcare.
Urging parents to ensure their daughters are vaccinated, Yadav said the initiative reflects the Centre’s commitment to safeguarding women’s health and securing a cancer-free future for the next generation.
