Medical Student Assaults Professor After Being Caught Cheating
Student barred after CCTV captures exam hall assault.
A routine internal examination at Dr Malakareddy Homoeopathic College turned violent after a medical student allegedly assaulted a professor who caught him cheating during the test. The incident occurred in the college’s examination hall and was captured on CCTV cameras installed on the premises.
According to college authorities, the altercation took place during a Homoeopathic Materia Medica exam when Assistant Professor Shivarajkumar, who was serving as the invigilator, reportedly found the student using a mobile phone to copy answers. The footage shows the professor confronting the student, identified as Shahbaz, and seizing his answer sheet before instructing him to leave the examination hall.
The situation quickly escalated after the student allegedly reacted aggressively. CCTV visuals show him physically attacking the professor, prompting other students present in the hall to intervene and restrain him. Though he briefly moved toward the exit, the video indicates that he returned moments later and attempted to strike the professor again before being pulled away.

Following the incident, the college administration informed the student’s parents and barred him from appearing in future examinations. Officials said disciplinary action was taken immediately in view of the seriousness of the misconduct. Despite the assault being recorded on camera, Assistant Professor Shivarajkumar has not filed a police complaint as of now. College authorities have stated that internal procedures are being followed while ensuring the safety of staff and students on campus.
