MEA Vows Action if Trump's Video About PM Modi Proves Real
MEA says it hasn't seen the video of Trump's Modi remark yet.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday responded for the first time to reports of US President Donald Trump making remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political career, stating that it has not seen any such video and would take appropriate action if it exists.
Addressing the weekly media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal was asked about Trump’s reportedly recent comments concerning Prime Minister Modi. In response, Jaiswal said the government had not yet verified the authenticity of the video being referred to in media reports.
“I have not seen the video. However, if such a video exists, whether it is true or false, we will take appropriate action on it,” Jaiswal said. He did not elaborate on what form that action might take, indicating that any response would depend on verification of the content.

The reported remarks have drawn attention given the significance of India–United States relations, particularly in the context of ongoing diplomatic, economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries. Both leaders have previously shared a publicly cordial relationship during Trump’s tenure as US President.
The MEA’s cautious response underscores the government’s approach of verifying information before issuing formal reactions. Further clarity is expected once the authenticity and context of the alleged video are established.
