Mann ki Baat: PM Modi Urges Industry to Prioritise Quality in Manufacturing
PM Modi urges zero-defect, top-quality Indian manufacturing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged Indian industry and start-ups to place a strong emphasis on quality, saying products manufactured in the country must become globally synonymous with excellence and reliability.
Speaking during his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the prime minister called on manufacturers to adopt a zero-defect mindset across sectors. He said India’s growth story would be strengthened when quality becomes a defining feature of everything produced in the country, from traditional industries to advanced technologies.
“Let us resolve to improve the quality of whatever we manufacture. Be it textiles, technology, electronics, or even packaging, an Indian product should become synonymous with ‘top quality’,” Modi said during the 130th episode of the address. He stressed that quality-driven manufacturing would enhance India’s global competitiveness and consumer trust.

He said young entrepreneurs have played a key role in transforming India’s innovation landscape through creativity, risk-taking, and problem-solving.
Highlighting India’s growing stature in the global start-up ecosystem, Modi said the country has now emerged as the third-largest start-up hub in the world. He noted that many Indian start-ups are working in emerging and unconventional sectors that were considered unimaginable just ten years ago.
PM Modi said innovation-led growth, combined with a strong focus on quality, would help India move towards self-reliance and sustainable development. He reiterated that world-class standards in manufacturing and services are essential for realising the vision of a developed and resilient India in the years ahead.
