Manika Vishwakarma Crowned Miss Universe India 2025!
Manika won the title with a powerful answer on women’s education at the Jaipur finale.
Manika Vishwakarma from Rajasthan was crowned Miss Universe India 2025 at a dazzling ceremony in Jaipur, succeeding Rhea Singha. The 23-year-old, originally from Sri Ganganagar and now based in Delhi, will represent India at the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand this November. Her victory, celebrated for its blend of grace and intellect, was sealed by a compelling response during the finale question round, where she prioritized women’s education as a transformative force for society.
In the decisive moment, Manika faced a challenging question: “If you had to choose between advocating for women’s education or immediate economic aid for impoverished families, which one would you prioritize and why? How would you address the counterarguments?” With poise, she responded, “Two sides of the coin. On one side, we have seen that women have been deprived of basic rights, such as education, for as long as we can remember. On the other side, we see the result of this deprivation: impoverished families. Fifty percent of our population has been denied the basic amenity that could change their lives. If I have to, I would choose the option of women’s education.” She defended her stance by emphasizing its long-term impact, stating, “I would advocate for it because it would not just change the life of one person; it would change the entire strata of the future of this country, of this world. While both issues are important, it is about taking actions that can help in the long run.” Her answer resonated with the jury, including actress Urvashi Rautela, who praised the tough competition but affirmed Manika’s standout performance.
Manika, a final-year Political Science and Economics student, is also a classical dancer, painter, and founder of Neuronova, a platform advocating for neurodivergence awareness. Her multifaceted talents and prior title as Miss Universe Rajasthan 2024 underscored her journey to the national crown.
Outshining 48 contestants, she beat Tanya Sharma (first runner-up), Mehak Dhingra (second runner-up), and Amishi Kaushik (third runner-up). As she prepares for the global stage, Manika’s victory reflects India’s legacy of producing influential Miss Universe winners like Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta, and Harnaaz Sandhu, carrying forward a message of empowerment and social change.
