Police sources confirmed that the two victims were residents of Kaij Taluka and were travelling towards Beed at the time of the crash.
According to authorities, a speeding truck carrying gravel from Beed towards Doithan collided directly with the car near Kapshi village. The impact severely mangled the front of the car, immediately igniting the vehicle’s engine. The force of the collision caused the car doors to jam, trapping the mother and her son inside.
The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the entire car. Although local residents rushed to assist, both victims had already succumbed to their injuries before they could be rescued. Initial reports had mistakenly identified the occupants as a husband and wife, but police later clarified that the victims were a mother and her son.
