Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav’s Son Marries in Mass Ceremony With 20 Other Couples
Mohan Yadav’s son rejects five-star extravagance, ties knot in mass ceremony.
In a striking departure from the multi-crore destination weddings that have become the norm among India’s political class, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav’s younger son, Dr Abhimanyu Yadav, married Dr Ishita Yadav on Sunday in a grand yet profoundly simple surroundings — sharing the sacred mandap with twenty other couples from ordinary and underprivileged families at a mass marriage ceremony in Ujjain’s Sawarakhedi area.
The entire event unfolded under one massive pandal where all 21 couples, irrespective of caste or economic background, were solemnised together while Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev personally chanted Vedic mantras and performed the rituals. The presence of revered spiritual figures — Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, Akhara Parishad president Mahant Ravindra Puri, and several senior mahants — transformed the occasion into a powerful celebration of Sanatan unity and social equality rather than individual grandeur.
High-profile guests including Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and D.D. Uikey, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, and Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar arrived not for a lavish reception but to bless all 21 couples equally. Governor Patel openly praised Dr Mohan Yadav for setting “a rare and exemplary standard of social harmony” by consciously choosing a collective wedding over the ostentatious displays common in political circles.

Baba Ramdev described the gesture as a national template, declaring that when influential families embrace simplicity, it encourages middle- and lower-income families to celebrate without debt or dowry pressure. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri called it a living embodiment of the Bhagavad Gita’s teaching that true dharma transcends discrimination. In a touching finale, Akhara Parishad general secretary Swami Hari Giri Maharaj announced an immediate gift of ₹1 lakh to each of the 21 newlywed couples, ensuring every pair began married life with dignity and support.
The ceremony has resonated deeply across Madhya Pradesh and beyond, widely hailed as a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” proving that genuine leadership begins at home — by rejecting extravagance and embracing inclusivity, cultural rootedness, and the welfare of the common citizen.
