Lost Father In Class 7, Telangana Engineer Now NHAI Deputy Manager

Boddu Sandeep Yadav, a 24-year-old engineer from Ellapuram village in Palakeedu mandal, has secured a position as Deputy Manager (Technical) with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). His appointment followed his strong performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering-based recruitment process, in which he secured the 46th rank in Civil Engineering.

Sandeep has been posted to NHAI’s Chittoor division and has taken charge of his new responsibilities. The appointment marks a significant milestone in a journey shaped by personal loss, financial challenges and years of focused preparation. Despite facing difficult circumstances from a young age, he remained committed to completing his education and pursuing a career in engineering.

Sandeep lost his father, Venkateswarlu Yadav, while studying in Class 7. His mother, Dhanalakshmi, and grandparents, Lingayya and Sayamma, supported the family during the years that followed. The family depended on agriculture and worked on its five-acre farm while ensuring that Sandeep and his younger sister, Sushma, could continue their education without interruption.

After completing his schooling in Miryalaguda, Sandeep pursued engineering at an Indian Institute of Technology in Madhya Pradesh. He later enrolled in an 18-month intensive coaching programme at ACE Academy in Hyderabad as part of his preparation for competitive engineering examinations. During this period, he reportedly studied for nearly eight hours every day while managing academic pressure and personal responsibilities.

For Sandeep, the NHAI appointment represents more than the security of a government position. He considers the achievement a tribute to his mother and grandparents, whose support enabled him to continue studying despite the family’s hardships. Although he has begun his professional career with the highways authority, he aims to join the Indian Engineering Services in the future.

Reflecting on his experience, Sandeep emphasised patience, responsibility and consistent effort as important elements of success. He believes hard work may not always produce immediate results, but sustained commitment can eventually create opportunities. His journey from a farming family in rural Telangana to a technical position at NHAI highlights how determination and family support can help individuals overcome difficult circumstances.
