Khattar Urges Caution in Adopting AI
AI: Solution or Hidden Danger?
Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar advocated for the cautious adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) during the valedictory session of the two-day All India Speakers’ Conference, held to commemorate 100 years of Veer Vithalbhai Patel as the first elected speaker of the Delhi Assembly. Addressing the gathering, Khattar highlighted AI’s dual nature, emphasizing its potential to drive solutions while warning against its risks.
“Technology offers many benefits, but we must ensure it doesn’t become a ‘Bhasmasur’ that harms its creator,” Khattar said, referencing the mythological demon to underscore AI’s potential dangers. He identified cybercrime as a major challenge, citing the 200,000 cyberattacks thwarted during Operation Sindoor in June 2025, as reported by Times of India.
Reflecting on his tenure as Haryana’s Chief Minister, Khattar showcased the ‘CM Window’ system, a digital platform launched in 2014 to streamline public grievances. “We processed 13 lakh applications, resolving 11.5 lakh,” he noted, highlighting technology’s role in enhancing governance efficiency. The initiative allowed citizens to submit complaints online, reducing physical gatherings outside government offices.

The session, attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Delhi Speaker Vijender Gupta, also celebrated technological advancements at the Delhi Assembly. Scindia praised its transition to a paperless system and full solar energy powering, aligning with India’s sustainability goals. “As PM Modi has said, India is the mother of democracy. This historic complex, where Veer Vithalbhai Patel laid its democratic foundation, carries our responsibility to drive prosperity,” Scindia remarked.
Khattar’s call for cautious AI use comes amid growing concerns over cyber threats, with India reporting a 15% rise in cyberattacks in 2025, per cybersecurity firm Cyble. The conference underscored the need to balance technological innovation with robust safeguards to protect governance and public trust.
