Kerala Techie Goes Missing During Trek; No Trace Found After 48 Hours

A 28-year-old techie from Kerala has gone missing during a trekking expedition in Wayanad, with no trace of him reported even after 48 hours. Authorities and local volunteers have launched a search operation in the hilly terrain, but challenging weather and dense forest cover are hampering rescue efforts.

The missing individual, identified as Arjun Nair, reportedly went on a solo trek near the Meenmutty waterfalls on Tuesday morning. Family members filed a complaint with the police when he failed to return by evening, raising immediate alarm. Rescue teams, including forest department personnel and local guides, were mobilized to comb the area.

Police officials said that initial investigations indicate Arjun was experienced in trekking, but the terrain in Wayanad is known for sudden landslides and unpredictable weather. “We are using drones and ground teams to cover difficult sections of the forest,” said a senior officer involved in the search.

The family remains hopeful as the search continues. Officials have reiterated that all possible resources, including helicopters and sniffer dogs, are being deployed to locate Arjun. Updates are expected as rescue operations progress, with authorities appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
