Karnataka PWD Minister Rejects BJP Allegations on Gruha Lakshmi Funds
Satish Jarkiholi slams BJP over fund misuse claims.
Karnataka Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has firmly dismissed accusations leveled by the Bharatiya Janata Party regarding the alleged diversion of funds allocated for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. He emphasized that the Rs 5,000 crore designated for the February and March instalments remains untouched, as the amounts have not yet been released by the relevant authorities. The minister described the opposition's claims as entirely unfounded and driven by political motives aimed at misleading the public.
Addressing media personnel in Belagavi on Thursday, Jarkiholi pointed out the procedural reality that no disbursement has occurred, rendering any talk of misappropriation premature and inaccurate. He accused the BJP of fabricating controversy where none exists, stressing that such allegations serve only to create unnecessary confusion among beneficiaries who rely on the scheme for financial support.
The minister announced that the Finance Department is preparing a comprehensive clarification to address the concerns raised and elucidate the administrative delays involved in the process. This official statement is anticipated to provide transparency and dispel lingering doubts, reinforcing the government's adherence to proper protocols in managing welfare funds.

Jarkiholi reassured millions of women enrolled under the flagship Gruha Lakshmi initiative that the pending instalments will be credited without further undue delay. He affirmed the Congress-led administration's unwavering commitment to the program, noting that forthcoming payments will include the outstanding amounts to ensure continuity and fulfillment of electoral promises.
Shifting focus to internal party dynamics, the minister candidly acknowledged that persistent factional disputes within the Congress could adversely influence electoral performance if not promptly resolved. He urged the national leadership to intervene decisively, promoting unity and discipline to safeguard the organization's prospects in upcoming contests.
