Karnataka Police Announces 1,600 Constable Posts With July 22 Application Deadline

The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has commenced the online application process for the recruitment of 1,600 Armed Police Constable (CAR/DAR) posts across the state. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) portal from June 22, 2026. The recruitment drive aims to strengthen the state's police force by filling vacancies across multiple divisions, with applications being accepted until July 22, 2026.

According to the official notification, a total of 1,600 vacancies have been announced, including 1,421 posts under the General Karnataka Division and 179 posts under the Kalyana Karnataka Division. Candidates selected through the recruitment process will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100, making it one of the major police recruitment drives undertaken by the state government this year.

Applicants must have passed the Pre-University Course (PUC), Class 12, or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Candidates are required to possess the qualifying marks card on or before the closing date of applications. Those awaiting examination results are not eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must have studied Kannada as either a first or second language at the SSLC level or have passed the Kannada language examination conducted by KEA.

The minimum age requirement for applicants is 18 years, while the upper age limit is 33 years as of July 22, 2026. The Karnataka government has announced a one-time relaxation of five years in the upper age limit for eligible candidates. Ex-servicemen will also be entitled to additional age relaxation in accordance with existing government rules and regulations.

Candidates interested in applying must visit the official KEA portal, complete the registration process, fill in the required personal and educational details, upload the necessary documents, pay the prescribed application fee and submit the form online. The application fee has been fixed at Rs 500 for candidates belonging to the General category, while eligible candidates from other categories will be required to pay Rs 250.

The written examination for the recruitment process has been scheduled for September 6, 2026, and will be conducted from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Authorities have advised applicants to complete the registration process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. Candidates are also encouraged to regularly check official notifications for updates regarding examination centres, admit cards and further stages of the selection process.
