Karan Johar Calls Mohan Bhagwat's RSS Centenary Speech Inspiring and Humorous

Karan Johar hails RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's lecture as inspiring with a striking sense of humour.

Filmmaker Karan Johar on Sunday praised Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s address at a special lecture series organised to mark the organisation’s 100th anniversary. The event was held at the Nehru Centre Auditorium in Mumbai and saw participation from several prominent figures from the film industry and other fields.

Speaking to the media after attending the lecture, Johar described Bhagwat’s speech as “inspiring” and highlighted his delivery style. He said he was particularly struck by the RSS chief’s sense of humour, which, according to him, added depth and warmth to the address. Johar also extended his best wishes to the organisation on the occasion of its centenary.

“I came here on the occasion of 100 years of the RSS and heard Mohan Bhagwat’s insightful lecture,” Johar said. “His words were not only inspiring but also reflected his great sense of humour.” His remarks drew attention as they came from a leading figure in the Hindi film industry, underlining the wide range of attendees at the event.

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who attended the programme on the second day, also shared his impressions with reporters. Kaushal said it was special for him to be part of an event marking such a significant milestone for the RSS. He added that this was his first opportunity to hear Mohan Bhagwat speak in person and that the experience left a strong impression on him.

“It’s wonderful that the RSS journey has completed 100 years,” Kaushal said, noting that he was deeply impressed by Bhagwat’s address. The two-day centenary celebration began on February 7 and concluded on February 8, featuring reflections on the organisation’s history, its role in society, and its vision for the future.

The event witnessed a strong presence from the entertainment industry. Bollywood actors and filmmakers including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ananya Panday, Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Ravi Dubey, Madhur Bhandarkar, Pritam, and Jackie Shroff were among those in attendance, highlighting the broad interest surrounding the RSS centenary celebrations.
