#JUSTIN: High-Level Defence Meeting Underway with PM Modi

PM Modi Reviews Security Situation in High-Level Defence Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just convened a critical meeting with India’s top defence officials in New Delhi to assess the escalating military conflict with Pakistan.

The high-level discussion, prompted by Pakistan’s recent drone attacks on 26 Indian locations and India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor, aimed to strategize future actions amid intensifying tensions.

Attendees included Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the three service chiefs.

The meeting focused on reviewing the security scenario following Pakistan’s failed attempts to target Indian installations, including airports and air bases, on May 9. Indian forces, equipped with advanced counter-drone systems, successfully neutralized the threats.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, speaking at a press briefing alongside Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, noted that Pakistan’s military is repositioning troops to forward areas along the border.

This development follows India’s precision strikes on May 7, which eliminated five high-profile terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. PM Modi’s meeting underscores India’s commitment to a proportionate yet firm response to safeguard national security.
