Justice Pathak Sworn In as Orissa High Court Judge
New judge boosts Orissa HC’s strength to 20
Justice Manas Ranjan Pathak took the oath as a judge of the Orissa High Court in Cuttack on July 21, 2025. Chief Justice Harish Tandon administered the oath in the presence of State Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, Advocate General Pitambar Acharya, and other dignitaries.
Previously serving at the Gauhati High Court, Justice Pathak’s transfer was recommended by the Supreme Court in May and notified by the Union Law Ministry on July 14. His appointment raises the Orissa High Court’s functional strength to 20 judges, against a sanctioned capacity of 32, strengthening the court’s judicial capacity.
