JP Nadda Urges CJP Leaders to End Central Delhi Sit-In

The Centre appealed to protesters associated with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to end their sit-in at Jantar Mantar after a meeting between Union Health Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda and representatives of the group. The discussions came amid ongoing protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and other examination-related issues.

In a post on X, J.P. Nadda said the meeting was held in a "cordial atmosphere" after CJP representatives sought talks with the government earlier in the day. He said discussions began at around 11:50 am, during which an initial verbal exchange took place before the delegation submitted a written memorandum outlining its demands at approximately 4 pm. Nadda said he had requested the protesters to end their sit-in and cooperate with the administration in restoring normalcy in central Delhi.

Delhi Police also appealed to demonstrators to maintain peace and exercise restraint while cooperating with authorities to ensure public order. The police urged citizens to avoid sharing or believing rumours, misinformation or unverified content circulating on social media or other platforms during the protest.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das confirmed that he and fellow spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka met Nadda at his residence for around 10 minutes and handed over a letter detailing the group's demands. In a statement shared on X, Das said the Union minister had assured the delegation that the issues would be discussed internally at the appropriate level but had not made any commitments. He added that the peaceful protest would continue until the group's primary demand was addressed.

In its memorandum, the CJP accused Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of failing to address multiple examination controversies, including the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, CBSE Class 12 portal issues and delays in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The organisation alleged that the absence of corrective measures reflected administrative shortcomings and reiterated its demand for the minister's resignation.

Earlier in the day, hundreds of protesters gathered in the high-security central Delhi area and attempted to march towards Parliament. Police intervened as prohibitory orders restricting large gatherings had been imposed in the area. While the demonstration continued at Jantar Mantar, official sources said reports claiming that protesters had been forcibly evacuated were incorrect. The CJP, which originated as a satirical political movement on social media, was founded by Abhijeet Dipke, a public relations graduate from Boston University and a former member of the Aam Aadmi Party's social media team.
