JP Nadda Shares CJP Meeting Details On Examination Reform Measures

The Centre and representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held a third round of discussions on Friday over demands related to alleged examination paper leaks and reforms in the education system. Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh represented the government, while the CJP delegation included national spokesperson Saurav Das and another youth representative. The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to address concerns raised by the group during its protest at Jantar Mantar.

After the meeting, JP Nadda said the discussions lasted for nearly two hours and that the CJP representatives presented three major demands along with five suggestions for improving the examination system. He said the government had heard their concerns and would hold another meeting with the group after internal discussions. Nadda added that the next round of talks would focus on the government’s response to the issues raised.

The latest meeting followed two discussions held on July 20 at Nadda’s residence. Those meetings involved government representatives and CJP members, including Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. The talks also came shortly after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike after receiving assurances from the government regarding key demands connected to student concerns and education reforms.

The CJP has maintained that its protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. The group has demanded accountability over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, changes in the education system, and action against those responsible for exam-related issues. It has also sought compensation of ₹1 crore for families of students who died by suicide following the alleged NEET paper leak.

The protesting group has further demanded withdrawal of FIRs and legal proceedings against students and others who participated in peaceful demonstrations. Earlier, the CJP had declined the government’s proposal for talks at a minister’s residence or office, insisting that discussions should take place at a neutral venue. The Centre and the group are expected to continue dialogue as efforts remain underway to find a resolution to the ongoing protest.
