JMI Students Shine In TCS Placements With Rs 11.59 Lakh Top Offer
34 JMI students selected by TCS with top package of Rs 11.59 lakh.
Thirty-four students from the 2027 batch of BTech, MTech, MCA and MSc programmes at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have been selected by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) through the university’s campus placement process. The recruitment drive was conducted by JMI’s University Placement Cell (UPC), with students competing for positions across three TCS profiles. The highest package offered through the drive goes up to Rs 11.59 lakh per annum under the TCS Prime category.
A total of 300 students appeared for the TCS aptitude test conducted on July 25 at the Computer Laboratories of JMI’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Following the assessment, 117 candidates were shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process. The shortlisted students appeared for interviews conducted at the TCS office on August 3 and 4, after which the company finalised its selection of 34 students.
Among those selected, one student has been offered a position under the TCS Prime profile, which carries an annual package ranging from Rs 9.09 lakh to Rs 11.59 lakh. Twenty-six students were selected for TCS Digital, with annual compensation packages between Rs 7.09 lakh and Rs 7.39 lakh. The remaining seven students were selected for TCS Ninja, with packages ranging from Rs 3.46 lakh to Rs 3.62 lakh per annum.

The latest recruitment outcome highlights the role of JMI’s University Placement Cell in connecting students with major employers through campus hiring initiatives. The placement process gives students from multiple technical and postgraduate programmes an opportunity to compete for roles based on their performance in aptitude assessments and subsequent interviews. The three-tier TCS recruitment structure also resulted in different compensation levels depending on the profile for which candidates were selected.
Meanwhile, JMI has also extended the deadline for applications to programmes offered through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). Candidates who had not completed their applications by the earlier August 10 deadline can now apply until September 8 through the university’s official admission portal. The extension comes shortly after the university announced 11 new certificate and diploma programmes for the 2026-27 academic session.
With the addition of the new programmes, JMI’s CDOE will offer 60 courses during the academic session, compared with 49 programmes previously. The university said the newly introduced courses are intended to expand access to academic opportunities while providing skill-oriented learning through its distance and online education platform. The placement selections and expansion of online programmes are part of JMI’s broader efforts to strengthen career and educational opportunities for students across different modes of study.
