Jaipur Police Launch Massive Crackdown, Detain 700 Suspected Criminals

Jaipur Police Launch Massive Crackdown

In a sweeping move to curb crime, Jaipur Police detained approximately 700 hardcore and suspected criminals on Tuesday morning as part of a city-wide crackdown.

The operation, which spans all police station areas under the Jaipur Commissionerate, signals a robust effort to restore law and order in the Pink City. City Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, spearheading the initiative, emphasized that the campaign targets active criminals, with legal action to be pursued against those found guilty.

The detentions were strategically distributed across Jaipur’s districts. District East and District West each saw around 250 suspects rounded up, while South District reported 136 detentions and North District accounted for 73. All detainees are currently under interrogation as authorities work to uncover criminal networks and prevent further illegal activities.

"This is a decisive step to ensure the safety of Jaipur’s residents," Commissioner Joseph stated, assuring that the police are committed to acting within the framework of the law.

The crackdown comes amid growing concerns over rising crime rates in urban centers, with Jaipur Police aiming to set a precedent through this large-scale operation. Local residents have expressed mixed reactions—some applaud the proactive stance, while others await clarity on the evidence justifying such extensive detentions.
