Jaipur Class 4 Student’s Death: CCTV Clip Raises Questions Over Bullying Allegations

CCTV clip raises concerns over Jaipur student’s death.

The family of a nine-year-old Class 4 student who allegedly died by suicide at a school in Jaipur has released new CCTV footage from her classroom, claiming that the visuals support their allegations of repeated bullying and lack of timely intervention by school authorities. The family has demanded action against all those they hold responsible under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. According to the family, the CCTV footage captures events inside the classroom shortly before the incident and provides evidence of the circumstances the child allegedly faced at school.

They have maintained that their daughter was subjected to sustained bullying by classmates and that their complaints seeking help did not receive an adequate response from teachers. The girl allegedly died after jumping from the fourth floor of her school building on November 1 last year. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The incident had sparked concerns over student safety, bullying and the responsibility of educational institutions in addressing complaints raised by children and parents.

The newly released footage has been cited by the family as part of their efforts to highlight what they describe as a pattern of harassment faced by the child before her death. They have alleged that repeated bullying affected their daughter's mental well-being and that the school failed to take sufficient steps despite their concerns. The family has urged authorities to investigate the role of all individuals connected with the case, including those responsible for ensuring the child's safety within the school environment. They have sought legal action under provisions of the Juvenile Justice law, which provides safeguards for the protection and welfare of children.

The case has also drawn attention to the broader issue of bullying in schools and the need for stronger mechanisms to identify and address such incidents. Child safety experts have often stressed the importance of creating reporting systems where students feel comfortable approaching teachers, counsellors or school authorities without fear. Nearly eight months after the incident, the Rajasthan Police filed a chargesheet before a court in connection with the case. The development marked a significant step in the investigation, with authorities examining available evidence and statements related to the circumstances surrounding the student's death.

The release of the CCTV footage is expected to become a key point of discussion during further legal proceedings. Investigators and the court will determine the relevance of the footage and other evidence while examining allegations made by the family. The incident has renewed debate over the responsibility of schools in preventing bullying and ensuring a safe environment for students. Parents and child rights advocates have called for stronger monitoring systems, greater awareness among teachers and timely intervention whenever complaints of harassment are reported. The case continues to be investigated as authorities work to establish the facts surrounding the tragic death of the young student.
