IRGC Officer Naini Killed In Strike After Warning Israel Of Missile Escalation

IRGC officer killed in strike shortly after warning Israel of missile escalation amid intensifying Middle East conflict.

A senior officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed in a reported US-Israeli airstrike just hours after issuing a warning about an impending “surprise” missile response against Israel. The Guards confirmed that their spokesperson, Ali Mohammad Naini, was “martyred” in what they described as a “criminal, cowardly terrorist attack” carried out at dawn.

Naini’s death comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where conflict between Iran and a US-Israel alliance has entered its third week. His final public remarks, carried by Iranian state-linked media outlets, included a strong rebuttal to statements made by Benjamin Netanyahu, who had claimed that Iran no longer possessed the capability to enrich uranium or produce ballistic missiles.

In his statement, Naini asserted that Iran’s missile program remained fully operational despite ongoing hostilities. He emphasized that the country’s defense sector had reached its “highest levels,” adding that production continued even under wartime conditions. “There are surprises coming for the enemy,” he warned, suggesting that future developments in the conflict would grow increasingly complex and intense.

The IRGC officer also dismissed claims by Donald Trump regarding the destruction of Iran’s naval forces. Challenging Washington directly, Naini dared the United States to deploy naval assets into the Persian Gulf, arguing that such claims did not reflect the reality on the ground.

Shortly after his remarks were circulated, Iranian authorities announced his death in an airstrike they attributed to US and Israeli forces. The incident underscores the volatile nature of the ongoing conflict, with both sides engaging in aggressive rhetoric and military action.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s position in a recent press conference, stating that Iran’s strategic capabilities had been significantly weakened. He claimed that Tehran was no longer able to enrich uranium or manufacture ballistic missiles and vowed that Israeli operations would continue until those capabilities were completely dismantled.
